350 Bay Area
350 Bay Area

350 Bay Area is a local grassroots climate movement working to achieve a clean energy future with racial, economic, and environmental justice.

I designed a logo and brand guidelines for a new identity expanding out of the Bay Area into a more nationally reaching activist organization. I created the Climate Canary concept based on the metaphor of the canary in the coal mine, representing the urgency of climate action and community solidarity.

I designed a logo and brand guidelines for a new identity expanding out of the Bay Area into a more nationally reaching activist organization. I created the Climate Canary concept based on the metaphor of the canary in the coal mine, representing the urgency of climate action and community solidarity.

Problem:

350 Bay Area's current branding and identity are very locally rooted, and not conducive to expanding their reach to a national audience. The new design needed to convey the intensity of our current climate crisis, while maintaining an approachable community feel.

solution:

Climate Canary employs a bold red and yellow palette to convey urgency and stand out amongst a market oversaturated with blue and green logos.

Results:

25 page guideline illustrating the brand story, brand identity, rules for logo usage, typography, color, images, and mockups to ensure brand consistency across all mediums.
